About me
I have been a social worker since 2013 when I completed my MSW at York University. Prior to this, I lived in a town in Northwest Ontario. I have experienced small town living as well as large city living as I have set roots in Toronto.
Before starting my private practice, I worked at Anishnawbe Health Toronto as a clinical counsellor. In my role, I worked with individuals, families and couples. I also started the walk-in counselling program which continues to run to this day.
After working as a clinical counsellor in a primary healthcare setting for several years, I began to see the challenges of commuting in a large city and how it impacts accessing services. I also began to see a trend in the amount of people asking for alternatives to face to face counselling due to convenience, schedule demands and well-being concerns that make it hard to leave the home.
I decided to open Collaborative Wellness Counselling so individuals and couples can work on their wellness without added barriers.
Those who choose to access psychotherapy through my video, phone and instant message services can do so in the comfort of their own home or wherever is most convenient.
I have completed a cyber-counselling course to best understand how phone, video and instant message psychotherapy differs from face to face.
